Deepika Padukone joins the crorepati bandwagon
Deepika has emerged as the reigning queen of the ad world during 2009. The actress has doubled her take-home income compared to what she was worth in 2007-2008. Deepika is much sought after in both premium and mass brands, right from high-end watches, airlines, clotheslines and even chewing gum.According to industry estimates, from a time when she was charging around Rs 60 lakh for an endorsement, Deepika now stress almost Rs 1.5 crore per ad, follow in the footsteps of Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif (both around Rs 2 crore an ad) and Priyanka Chopra (Rs 1.5-2 crore).
“I think what made people accept me is that I can be glamourous and also the girl-next-door. I have heard this from people who have approached me with campaigns and endorsement offers. I have worked really hard to get what I’m getting. I’m very passionate about movies and my invariable effort is to outdo myself and challenge my acting skills. I’m happy with what I have got – but this isn’t enough,” Deepika told a daily.
Discussion about her competitors from B-town, Deepika told the daily, “I just love how Kareena carries herself. She is extremely graceful. I think Katrina is very hard working and that is a big reason behind her success. Priyanka has shown how versatile she can be and done some very good work lately.” It’s not just ads that are keeping this diva on her toes. The actress has five back-to-back films releasing in 2010.
Deepika Padukone hides Ranbir Kapoor’s tattoo
When love was in the air, Deepika Padukone inked Ranbir Kapoor’s tattoo on her backside. At present that her issue with Ranbir died down, her tattoo has been creating nuisance. Deepika is shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker’s periodic film ‘Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se’ in Goa and her tattoo is quite evident. When camera focuses her back, Ranbir’s tattoo is making main focus.
As a outcome, Deepika had to hide the RK tattoo. The film revolves around the Chittagong rising in the pre liberty days and Deepika needs to tie her hair in a bun for a fight sequence. Deepika’s tattoo usually remains hidden behind her locks but when she tied her hair in a bun, it was quite revealing. Ashutosh again sent her to the dressing room to style her hair in a different way.
The source adds, “It was embarrassing for Deepika when Ashu sent her back to the dressing room. She was flustered initially but then, she came out of her vanity van with a different hairdo that covered the tattoo and completed the sequence.”In the film, Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead hero.
Will Deepika get rid of her Ranbir tattoo?

Now, it’s tattoos which decide whether a star couple is dating or not.And so it happened at an event that Deepika Padukone, who is fresh from her break-up with hot Ranbir Kapoor, was asked uncomfortable questions by the media – the best one being what she’s gonna do with the famous ‘RK’ tattoo on her nape.
Already a little awkward with break-up questions, Deepika chose to remain silent. After all, silence is golden. But not for the journos. They persisted with merciless questions, and the actress understandably snapped back. Poor Deepika! Methinks she should chill out a bit, and do what her Love Aaj Kal character did – have a break-up party! That should heal some wounds.
Deepika Padukone cutting off ties with Ranbir?
Once bitten, twice shy. It seems actress Deepika Padukone is determined to keep a distance from her ex beau Ranbir Kapoor since they broke up recently. And now, she is cutting off all ties with him including professional life.The grapevine is abuzz with the news that a popular filmmaker approached Deepika to act in his film.
However, she turned down the offer simply because he was planning to cast her ex beau Ranbir in the lead role.It is said that Deepika has turned a workaholic after parting ways with Ranbir. She used to divide time between her acting career and her boyfriend when she was seeing him but now, the story has changed. She is now giving her everything to films.
It looks like Bachna Ae Haseeno will be their first and last film together!
Deepika Padukone replacing Priyanka Chopra
The latest buzz in industry circles is that Rakesh Roshan has plans to start filming the sequel to his desi super hero flick, Krrish by September 2010. Playing the title role, Hrithik Roshan will however not be romancing Priyanka Chopra in this one, our sources claims.Sources further reveal, “Roshan Sr. who will be directing the film apart from producing it, is considering Deepika Padukone to play the lead, although there has been no confirmation. While the first film in the series Koi Mil Gaya had Preity Zinta in the lead opposite Hrithik, Krrish featured Priyanka Chopra. There are no plans for her to return, so it remains to be seen who would step into the leading lady’s role.”
It is also believed that Roshan Sr. has had early discussions with the SFX team and a big crew of foreign technicians who worked on Krrish. They have been bouncing off ideas on where to take the character and how to develop it.?Letting us in the secret, our source further reveals that Rakesh has zeroed down on a plotline where Krrish battles his evil counterpart in the sequel. Apparently, Rakesh is keen on having Hrithik play a grey character ever since he saw his performance in Dhoom 2. Krrish will be seen saving the 7 wonders of the world, which makes a perfect foil to include extensive shots of diverse foreign locations.
Hrithik will also undergo vigorous physical training for the role. He has completed Kites, which is all set for release next year. He is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish with Aishwarya Bachchan.

Deepika Padukone in the US for Wedding
Deepika Padukone has headed to the US for some time out with family after having worked continuously for three years. She will be going there to attend a close cousin’s wedding and to spend some time with her relatives.
According to sources, this break was much needed after her recent break-up with Ranbir Kapoor. She hasn’t taken a break since she started working on Om Shanti Om back in 2006. She then worked on Bachna Ae Haseeno and Chandni Chowk To China and then Love Aaj Kal, and other assignments like endorsements and other projects. She is currently working on Karthik Calling Karthik and Housefull. So, Deepika didn’t let go of the chance as soon as she found out about it.
Deepika will spend about 10 days in the US attending her cousin’s wedding and hope the trip will rejuvenate her. The news was confirmed by Deepika herself, who added that it is very important to make time for family even if one’s life is busy.
Deepika reunites with Yuvraj Singh
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone who recently broke up with beau Ranbir Kapoor reunited with her ex-beau Yuvraj Singh after almost two years. Well before you widen your eyes let us clear the air that no romantic sparks have been re-ignited between the two. The Om Shanti Om actress performed at that Sahara Indian Sports Awards in Mumbai in presence of the Men in Blue including the prince charming Yuvraj Singh.
The two exchanged smile when they came together on stage. Also present at that time was Mahendra Singh Dhoni whom Deepika was once said to be very fond off. It may be recalled that Deepika and Yuvraj had started going around during India’s tour to Australia in early 2008. She was spotted among the crowd in many matches but Ranbir snatched her from Yuvi’s life.

Katrina not reason Behind Ranbir-Deepika Split
It is now official that Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor have called off their relationship. Ranbir's co-star in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani Katrina Kaif is being assumed to be the reason behind the split, but this is far from true. The real behind the split has been Ranbir's flirtatious attitude and Deepika's over possessive nature which could not have co-existed.
Ranbir being a charmer has always been close to the fairer sex. Deepika had initially made him sever his ties with his once rumoured girlfriend Sonam Kapoor but he became close to socialite Nandita Mahtani and many other girls. Deepika who had cut her ties with Nihar Pandya and Yuvraj Singh could not bear this and it has now led to their break up.
Deepika-Ranbir end their relationship
Ranbir Kapoor claimed that he and girlfriend Deepika Padukone are still together after rumours of their break up hit the headlines. However, sources close to the actors said that the couple has ended their relationship.Though rumours are doing the rounds that Ranbir’s close rapport with Katrina Kaif and his mom’s dissent are the causes of the split, the real problem is said to be his flirtatious behaviour.
He is a natural charmer and at times ends up getting too close to women he knows. It is said that some common friends broke the news to Deepika.She has given a lot to this relationship, be it cutting off all ties with her good friends Nihar Pandya and Yuvraj Singh or avoiding getting too close to other menfolks.
So, she reportedly told him to stay committed to their relationship. This made Ranbir felt suffocated and asked her to give him space. Let’s hope this piece of news turns out to be just a publicity stunt for Ranbir’s film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, which is releasing this Friday, November 6.
Ranbir denies split with Deepika
A lot has been said about his relationship with Deepika Padukone hitting the rocks but Ranbir Kapoor has cleared the air and rubbished rumours that he had split up with his ladylove. Ranbir who was promoting for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani said that he was very much together with Deepika and the media should stop spreading such rumours.
On his link up with Katrina Kaif, Ranbir said that when two stars work together the media tries to link them up and create stories around them. He added that he found this very awkward as both he and Katrina were professionals and were trying to do their best for the movie.
Seems like Deepika and Ranbir are back on tracks with their relationship.
